The Modern Creator’s Toolkit
Beyond the Classics: Where to Find Modern Copyright-Free Music
You don't have to stick to 100-year-old songs to avoid copyright issues. Many modern artists release music under Creative Commons (CC) licenses or through "No Copyright" labels.
1. The YouTube Audio Library
Google provides a massive library of tracks specifically for creators. You can filter by genre (Cyberpunk, Cinematic, Lo-fi) and mood. Most require no attribution at all.
2. NoCopyrightSounds (NCS)
If you’ve watched a gaming montage or a tech review in the last decade, you’ve heard NCS. They offer high-quality Electronic Dance Music (EDM).
Popular Track: "Fade" by Alan Walker (the NCS version).
Rule: Usually, you just need to credit the artist in your video description.
3. Kevin MacLeod (Incompetech)
The "King of YouTube Music." You may not know his name, but you know his songs like "Monkeys Spinning Monkeys" or "Sneaky Snitch." Under a CC BY license, his entire library is free as long as you provide a credit link.
